That's One Small Step for Victim-Blaming, One Large Step for Assholes

One of the things that pisses me off to no end is bullying. I just can't stand it. I can't stand it when people passively justify it by saying "it happened to me, therefore, I shouldn't attempt to do anything about it" or "it's nature. It's something that happens to everyone and you have to stand up for yourself." It's so easy to talk like that when you're the one speaking from a point of privilege; of course it's easy for you to fight back. You won't be villianized in the media, and your victimizer canonized, for fighting back like these poor young gay men and women will.

So, with this in mind, I present Case Number 1,232,123,998 of "Christian is an Asshole." His name is Dick Swine Rich Swier and he's a proud card carrying member of the Teabagistani Party. Swine believes that anti-gay bullying is just "peer pressure". Of course he does. Admitting that it wasn't would mean admitting that Swine here is an asshole for saying this:
This is not bullying. It is peer pressure and is healthy. There are many bad behaviors such as smoking, under age drinking and drug abuse that are behaviors that cannot be condoned. Homosexuality falls into this category.

But of course, he can't be the asshole. Oh no, he's just trying to save these people from themselves. Small government and all that. After all, the Teabagistani Party is small government first, and assholes and hypocrites a close second.
Homosexuality is simply bad behavior that youth see as such and rightly pressure their peers to stop it. In Sarasota County over 70% of all HIV/AIDS cases are due to male sex with males.
I read a comment on FSTDT the other day from a freeper. His whole thing was basically "the thing I hate most about gays is they force us to think about buttholes." The thing I hate most about Christianity is that it makes me think about assholes, but that's a different topic. Note that Swine here says nothing about how STD rates are lower among lesbian populations than they are among heterosexual populations. Christian Telling Half Truths and Whole Lies for Jesus, Case #123,230,998.
I agree with Gulf Coast Gives that “LGBT youth are up to five times more likely to attempt suicide than their straight counterparts”. Homosexuality, like drugs, harms young people if they experement [sic] with it. That is the greatest tragedy.
They were for gay sex before they were against it
It's so funny; those statistics are right. "I agree that they're more likely to attempt suicide... but it's not because of us! It's because they're gay... or something." This just reeks of victim-blaming. This is a classic tactic used by the Right and by bullies in general to avoid taking responsibility for their actions and blaming the victim for the victimizer's actions. Remember kids: Personal responsibility only matters if you don't get in trouble with Jesus. The Religious Right and the Right in general is nothing more than bullies standing up for other bullies.

Oh, and you have to love their response for calling them out on this. "That has nothing to do with Christianity," or "No true Teabagger puts sugar on his porridge would say such a thing". They're so good at making themselves out to be victims; one might say that the poses they strike are absolutely fabulous. You're stopping me from persecuting those gay men, who make me think naughty thoughts, and make me question my Male Virility(tm) that naturally comes with being a Teabagger. Down with Sodomy, Up with Teabagging! Over the forehead, even!

Observation: He uses homosexuality a lot. This is a right-wing watch word; they're trying to poison the well by making it sound clinical, and therefore, like it's some kind of problem. They're trying to do the same thing to this word that they did with liberal; if the Right is good at anything, it's twisting words to their own meanings and emptying the word of a meaning so it can mean whatever they want too. We can't let them do this. Not again. Fight back everywhere you see it; replace the word with Gay, or, even better, because he agreed to do so, replace it with Takei. See, this is what asshole sounds like if you do that:
This is not bullying. It is peer pressure and is healthy. There are many bad behaviors such as smoking, under age drinking and drug abuse that are behaviors that cannot be condoned. Homosexuality Takei falls into this category.
Homosexuality Takei is simply bad behavior that youth see as such and rightly pressure their peers to stop it. In Sarasota County over 70% of all HIV/AIDS cases are due to male sex with males.
